Dr. Maytal Foox serves as the head of the bio-materials team in Beta-O2. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Foox worked as a R&D Project Manager at CollPlant Ltd. (Israel), a regenerative medicine company focused on 3D bioprinting, tissue repair and wound care products based on recombinant human collagen. Two products received a CE marK. Prior to CollPlant she served as a QC and Analytical R&D Chemist at Biorest Ltd. (Israel), a biopharmaceutical company, engaged in developing liposomal based drugs to prevent the recurrence of arteriostenosis where a stent has been inserted. The company passed Phase II studies.
Dr. Foox holds an undergraduate degree in Biotechnology engineering, a master degree in Neurobiology (Cum Laude) and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Tel-Aviv University, Israel. Her Ph.D. thesis, a development of natural bioadhesives based on gelatin & alginate with controlled release of bioactive agents was patented and further researched by several companies abroad.
Dr. Foox also lectures at the unit for science-oriented youth at the Joan and Jaime Constantiner School of Education in Tel Aviv university. She is also a Wingate certified swimming instructor and a Magen David Adom Emergency Medical Technician.
